  • My name is Ryo and I've been in fandom for a long time. I had pretty unsupervised access to the internet in the early years of the 1990s. One of the earliest fandoms I found was for the Animorphs. Although I didn't share it, it was also the first fandom I wrote fanfiction for as well. I spent a lot of my childhood and teen years all over the wild west that was the internet at the time. For better or worse. I loved fanfiction, fanart, KISS paper dolls, and music videos. I started trying my hand at music videos in the years 2000/2001 and have since created nearly 200 videos. A lot of really bad ones to be honest. But though I'm not as active in making them as I used to be, I still crank one out every now and then.

The internet has done a lot for me in my life. I discovered like-minds in the Goth community and fandom communities via the internet. I discovered paganism. I made friends. I had relationships. And finally, the internet saved me from my abusive family when an online friend drove for twelve hours to pick me up and bring me to live with them.

I'm glad I found neocities. Having this feeling of the early internet come rushing back is like going home for me in a way.
