Notes: My headcanon for Doc is that his parents were atheist. Also excuse the badly translated Spanish for Lopez.

Doc was out in the garden, trying to rid their corn of pesky weeds, when Donut came wandering over from the Red Base. His arms were piled up high with boxes which he dropped outside the door of their shack. He had asked Donut to head over for some supplies some time ago, but he'd thought the pink soldier had forgotten. Doc stood and wiped his hands on his legs.

"What do you have there Donut? Are those the tools I asked for? Cause my hammock is hanging a little low lately, and I really need to-"

As Doc went on, Donut reached into one of the boxes and pulled out a Santa hat.

"Nope! Don't you know what day it is, Doc?"

He gave the other man a disappointed look as he pulled the hat onto Lopez's head.

"Feliz Navidad, Lopez!"

Donut seemed to completely miss the robot's exasperated sigh.

"Dios mio. ¿Esta la tortura nunca acaba?"

"Is it Christmas?" Doc asked with a smile. "I guess I never really celebrated it."

Donut gasped and dropped the wreath he had just retrieved.

"Never? Doc! You don't know what you’ve been missing!"

Doc gave a little shrug.

"I've seen other people celebrate. And I do get my fair share of Christmas carols. I guess it's never appealed to me."

"But what about the tree and the snow and Santa?!"

"Yeah, I don't know how I feel about the idea of a bearded guy with a sack breaking in."

Donut's big blue eyes welled up behind his visor and Doc knew his lip was probably stuck out too.

"Buuut I can help you decorate if you want."

Doc made his save and Donut grabbed his hand, pulling him over to the boxes. They spent the next few hours decorating their little shack and Lopez with colorful ornaments and lights. Without trees around, their scarecrow had to double his duties. Donut told him a lot of stories about Christmas on the farm and Doc couldn't help but get a bit more into the spirit as Donut went on. It seemed like he had a lot of happy memories tied up in the day. Doc didn't even mind how particular Donut could get over the decorating.

"And all I did was ask if he'd stuff my stocking. Can you believe that?" Donut asked as he went back over the tinsel Doc had just laid out, straightening each strand meticulously.

"This isn't improving my opinion of Santa, Donut." He put a Happy Holidays plaque on the door and stepped back. "I think that's it."

"Nooot quite."

Donut reached down into the last box and pulled out a little bundle of green leaves and red berries. He came over and hung it in the doorway then stepped back and put his hands on his hips.

"There."

There was a bit of a pause as Donut stared at him before Doc looked up slowly and realized that he was right under the mistletoe. Donut reached up and removed his helmet, revealing a mischievous grin. Doc suddenly felt very nervous. He could feel a pull from Donut, an overwhelming energy that radiated from the other man. It almost made him miss Donut's first few steps towards him. It certainly held him frozen when Donut's fingers touched his helmet.

The removal of it blinded him momentarily, or maybe it was the panic attack he was fighting. When he could see again, Donut's face was too close. Doc's lips were warm and wet. He searched Donut's eyes as his hands raised slowly to barely touch the pink soldier's elbows. But Donut was pulling away.

"Merry Christmas, Doc."

Doc smiled slightly, still looking a little confused, and still feeling a little intoxicated. Maybe there were a few things appealing about Christmas after all.
